My name is Dick Clark & I am the Democratic candidate for Utah's State Treasurer. You may be wondering who I am and why I am running for this important office. I was born and raised in Holladay, Utah. My family had horses, cows, hundreds of chickens and acres of fruit trees. At an early age I was taught preparation, hard work, & commitment were needed to succeed, even survive.
During my youth, I loved and played baseball with a passion. Graduating from Olympus High School, I was awarded a scholarship to Brigham Young University where I studied business administration and played catcher for the BYU baseball team. After college, I became an investment advisor. With the same passion and commitment required to be a good player, I made a great career of creating wealth, as well as, preserving capital for individuals and investment institutions.
Currently, I am a registered advisor agent for J.P. Turner and Company. I have taught my sons, as I was taught, that preparation, hard work, commitment and community service are the keys to a productive and rewarding life. All of my boys are men now and have learned their lessons well. They proved it when two enlisted with the army and served in Iraq. My other son joined the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department. As they have chosen to commit themselves to making our country, state, and community a better place to live, so have I.
